What is Global Citizenship?
A Global citizen is someone who is part of the growing and emerging world community, and who's actions help contribute and benefit the society in general.
The growing technology has resulted in an age where communication and trade are faster and larger than ever before. Information remains a search away- these are all characteristics of this new Global community.
As a global citizen, one aims to contribute to the Global Economy, provide services that benefit the rest of the world, make informed and beneficial decisions, and fight for rights and offer our assistance to fellow global citizens all around the world, should they truly need it.
Being a global citizen does not take away from the traditional identity as a member of an ethnicity, religion, country, or any other background. It offers another layer of responsibility- one that is very important.
Ultimately, we are all responsible for well-being of our planet and fellow humans, and it only takes one or two "Small Acts" a person to change the world as it is for the better.
